If any upperclassman cannot make it to registration and does not receive their device on the first day of school, please speak with DHS Tech Hub staff in the Media Center or Tech Hub during the school day. Freshmen will receive devices on the first day of school if all fees are paid.
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Silvia Marin, our new Testing Coordinator. Originally from Miami, Florida, Ms. Marin taught in Bronx, NYC before moving back to Miami where she was the ESOL and Testing Coordinator for an 8th-12th grade school. This will be her 11th year as an educator. She recently moved to South Carolina with her family, and they love the hiking trails and the weather! As the Testing Coordinator, Ms. Marin looks forward to impacting students' lives by giving them tools to succeed so they can accomplish anything they desire to do. She measures students’ success not only by their test scores, but also by those more intangible (and often more abiding) factors such as a passion for knowledge or a life-lesson learned. Last but not least, she loves seeing all the seniors cross the stage at graduation. Welcome to Daniel, Ms. Marin!
Please join me in welcoming Mr. Aaron Bates, our new math teacher at D.W. Daniel High School! Mr. Bates will be teaching Foundations of Algebra, Algebra 1 and PreCalculus this year. He is a graduate of Liberty High School and attended Clemson University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Since he has grown up in the Pickens County area, he is excited to have this opportunity to serve in a school district he cares so deeply about. Mr. Bates enjoys serving at his church and watching football with his wife. As both of them are Clemson graduates, they never miss the Tigers play! Mr. Bates tells us he looks forward to helping students achieve their full potential by providing them with the necessary tools to succeed. Welcome Mr. Bates!

Please join me in welcoming our new assistant principal, Shea Martin. Mrs. Martin is a graduate of Daniel High School and Clemson University. She has taught science at both middle and high school levels and served in administration for over 15 years – most recently as an assistant principal at Seneca High School. When asked what she is looking forward to the most this year, she replied: “I am looking forward to being a part of the Daniel family and working to build on the success that this community has built.”

- The School District of Pickens County is making a transition to a new online registration system called FinalForms during the summer of 2023. The registration sites (linked below) will be unavailable until July 10, 2023.
This includes the New Student, Back to School, and Express Update sites.

Interact Club raised $1000 for CAMFED - a program in Africa that educates young women to reduce poverty, lower the fertility rate (reduce population growth), and reduce human environmental impact. Thank you DWD community for supporting Interact Club!
Daniel High School celebrated our seniors by hosting an Academic Signing Day. We had 111 students participate who will be attending 38 different colleges in 12 different states. We have some amazing students! Congratulations!
